The talent show is swapping from BBC to ITV and whilst the Kaiser Chiefs frontman had decided to depart his role as a coach, he admits he is still "nervous" about watching the upcoming series.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards in London on Friday (01.07.16), he said: "I'm actually nervous about how jealous I'm going to be about whose in that end seat. On the Saturday night when it comes out, I'm going to be livid - why did I say last October that I wasn't doing any more? ...

"I'll watch it through gritted teeth though. It's funny because I'm quite excited about it because I do really like the show and I think it's a great way of finding talent whether they go on to do big things or not but he teaches them a lot and it taught me a lot."

And whilst the 38-year-old musician may be regretting his departure a little, he is looking forward to hopefully performing on the show.

He added: "At the time, when we just started doing it again, I was like, 'This is hard work.' But everything is like that, then in hindsight you're like, 'I wouldn't mind a bit more of that.' I think I made the right decision. I have no idea who should do it, maybe a One Direction guy?

"You can always manage [to fit it in]. I might get to perform on the show, the timing with the album seems to be right. I can be the guy that goes back."

Ricky has also continued to have a close bond with his acts and is excited for their futures.

He shared: "I'm still in contact with loads of my acts, last week, I spoke to four of them. One of them, Joleon, he's doing great things, can't say much about as it's top secret. Kevin, of course. Nathan is in Aladdin now and he's going to do big things. I spoke to Beth the other night and she's doing alright."
