Robbie Williams has placed a huge bet with Louis Tomlinson that his Groups will do better than the Boys on 'The X Factor' after the categories were confirmed.

The 'Angels' hitmaker has joked he is even "more excited" than the Groups to be paired up with his category, and he is so confident they will do well in the competition that he has challenged fellow show judge Louis to a big wager.

He said: "They're mega excited, I think I might be more excited than them ... I'm very, very happy and I've got quite a bit of money with Louis Tomlinson, that he thinks his acts are going to get further than my acts.

"That's not going to happen. Let's win this thing."

He added: "I wanted the boys, get in. The variety is important."

Robbie's wife and fellow judge Ayda Field has been vocal throughout the series about wanting the Overs category - and she was delighted to get her wish.

She said: "I have said from day one that I want the Overs. I will never live it down with my husband if I do worse than him, I'm taking these guys to the championship.

"What the boys don't know is, I'm the most competitive human on that panel. We've got this."

Simon Cowell, who has the Girls, added: "I'd be happy with the Girls ... you've all got a shot here, this is probably the best girls category we've had for a long, long time. Let's make it amazing."

The show's controversial Six Chair Challenge will make a return on Saturday (29.09.18), and each of the judges has one Guaranteed Safe Seat to give away.

This means that should a panellist really like an act in their own category they can press a golden X which will act as a Safe Seat.

If this is pressed for an act they will automatically progress to the Judge's Houses stage of the competition.
