Ryan Thomas and Adam Thomas are reportedly in talks to host a new game show

The 39-year-old actor is best known for previously playing Jason Grimshaw on the ITV1 soap opera 'Coronation Street', whilst Adam, 35, recently returned to his role as Donte Charles in the BBC One school drama 'Waterloo Road' but now the pair are said to be gearing up to "bring plenty of laughs" as the presenters of '99 to Beat', with an insider comparing their potential to TV legends Ant and Dec.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "This game show will bring plenty of laughs and needs happy-go-lucky hosts at the helm. Ryan and Adam fit the bill perfectly and it would be great to see the brothers working together as TV hosts for the first time.

"The could be a really exciting new chapter for them and should be a lot of fun. They are so natural together. Hey, it worked for Ant and Dec…"

Both brothers are regularly seen on reality TV, with former 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Ryan - who announced his retirement from acting in 2021 - winning ITV's 'Dancing on Ice' in early 2024 whilst just months earlier his brother competed in BBC rival 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The game show is already a hit format in seven countries and sees 100 contestants go head-to-head in a series of challenges, all attempting to not finish last in order to make it through to the next round.

Producer Katie Manley, boss of production company Initial, said: “What’s brilliant about it is that anyone has a real shot at winning. Whether you’re 18 or 80, players don’t need to be experts in one particular skill. Winning is not important – it’s not coming last that counts! The human stories that sit alongside the gameplay will provide heart, humour and drama throughout.”
