The former 'Gogglebox' star cannot believe one-time 'This Morning' host Richard is 65 years of age and says he must be "somehow drinking from the fountain of youth" to stay ageless, which is one of the powers of the mythical blood-suckers.

Speaking on her BBC Radio 1 podcast 'Scarlett Wants To Believe', she said: "This is not me saying he is a vampire but I always think Richard Madeley is somehow drinking from the fountain of youth. Because that man has not aged in, like, 40 years.

“There’s vampires walking among us. I don’t know if they suck people’s blood but I think they’ve somehow found the fountain of youth.”

Scarlett's comment prompted her guest, 34-year-old radio host Chris Stark, to enquire just exactly “whose blood” Richard - who is married to fellow television presenter Judy Finnegan, 73 - “has been sucking?”

He said: “You’ve just suggested Richard Madeley is a vampire and he walks among us on our TV. Whose blood has he been sucking?”

Richard is back on TV screens co-hosting ‘Good Morning Britain’ this week alongside regular presenter Susanna Reid. It follows the departure of former co-host Piers Morgan who quit the breakfast news programme in March following a row over the allegations made against the British royal family by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex - who is married to Prince Harry - in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

It came after Ofcom received more than 41,000 complaints about his comments towards the former 'Suits' actress - who was previously known as Meghan Markle.

ITV confirmed his departure in a statement that read: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave ‘Good Morning Britain’. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."
