The former ‘A Place In The Sun’ presenter - who was the second star to be booted out of the Australian jungle - spilled that the ‘Hollyoaks’ star was keen to suss out a way to check his appearance “everywhere he went” when they first moved into camp on the ITV reality show.

After taking over Owen’s Instagram, the 35-year-old television broadcaster said: "Hey guys, it's Scarlette here and I've taken over Owen's Instagram.

"I thought I'd tell you a little secret about Owen.

"When he got in the jungle all he was doing was trying to find mirrors, everywhere he went.

"He found these tiny squares high up in the trees that nobody else could see and he was standing there like, 'Yeah, I look good.' "

Scarlette is supporting the 23-year-old actor because he is “smashing it” on the show, which also features ex-rugby player Mike Tindall, radio DJ Chris Moyles, ex-Lioness Jill Scott and the disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

She said: "He is smashing it in the jungle, make sure you all keep voting for him because he's an absolute legend."

Owen's ex, 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Chloe Ferry, 27, has also thrown her support behind him, and admits she wished it had worked out with the actor.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I don’t have one bad word to say about him. He’s a top bloke and one in a million. I’ve never met anyone like him.

"I do wish it had worked out. But we had totally different careers and wanted to go down different paths."
