Shane Richie

Shane Richie thinks Alfie Moon and Mick Carter - new character played by Danny Dyer - could become good friends.

The 'EastEnders' actor's alter ego may be losing his job as Queen Vic landlord but he doesn't think he will hold it against the pub's new owner, and he'll be offering advice.

He said: "Mick will want Alfie's help as the ex-landlord. Alfie does help him out and there is a friendship happening there."

Alfie will struggle as Phil's revenge begins to sink in, but Shane thinks that can work in his favour as he has "nothing to lose".

He added to Soaplife: "Alfie has worked really hard for the Mitchells. He shows backbone by going against Phil.

"He's being a bit bold because he has nothing to lose now."

And just as Shane thinks Alfie will help Mick, actor Danny recently revealed his new co-star has played a big role in helping him settle into life on the soap.

He said recently: "Shane Richie has been great. He was running the Queen Vic and you need to learn how everything works.

"I couldn't even open the f***ing till. It's a lot to take on, it's a lot mentally to remember and he's just there to show me around and stuff."
