Simon decided to shake up the format of his ITV pop-star search show this year by featuring celebrities and his former girlfriend Sinitta revealed he is having the time of his life on the panel with Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh.

She told MailOnline: "Simon is really happy with it. He's like 'I'm going to be depressed when it's over', because it's just a great night out. We aren't having nights like that anymore.

"We are having such a good time, the atmosphere is so different to the usual 'X Factor', it's like being in a club, with the strangest most bizarre cabaret, with drinks."

However, Sinitta still hopes that the old 'X Factor' will return as she thinks the public need a shot at fame.

She explained: "I hope the normal 'X Factor' carries on because it's also nice to watch people who haven't had any chance at all have a chance

Sinitta, 56, also revealed she has been particularly impressed with one contestant, hunky Try Star member Levi Davis, 21.

She said: "Try Star are just so hot. Are any of them single? Levi is single. That leaves him for me."

Meanwhile, it was recently claimed that Simon Cowell has called for drag queens to appear on 'The X Factor: Celebrity' in order to increase ratings.

The 60-year-old music mogul has been inspired by 'RuPaul's Drag Race' - which searches for the next drag superstar - as he looks to improve the star-studded talent show.

A TV insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "'Drag Race' is young, current and fun. 'X Factor: Celebrity,' which averages ratings of 5.7 million, preforms well with a young audience. Drag queens fit in well with that bracket."

His advert states: "Serve up fierce, fabulous and class ... and be on TV."

'RuPaul's Drag Race' became a hit in the US back in 2009 with 11 seasons and an 'All Star' spin-off.

And RuPaul, 59, and his trusty friend Michelle Visage, 51, travelled across the pond with a UK version this year.
