Spencer Matthews had the "odd disaster" on 'Celebrity MasterChef'.
The 29-year-old reality star will be appearing on the latest series of the cooking reality show, and although he admitted that not everything went "according to plan", Spencer was trying his best to improve by practising in his spare time.
Speaking on 'This Morning', he said: "There was the odd disaster, obviously things don't always go according to plan.
"But I tried my hardest to practice in my spare time and take a real interest in it. Anything with a trophy or a medal at the end is a victory."
The 'Made in Chelsea' star received many burns while on the show and blames his mishaps on only usually cooking for him and his wife, 32-year-old Vogue Williams.
He said: "When you're cooking at home I would never cook something and throw it in the oven, typically you'd just be cooking for two, but I've burned my hands when the pan was coming out the oven all the time ... and yeah, I was a bit of a mess."
Spencer learned to cook from watching his mother when they had family meals growing up.
He said: "I'm much better now. My mum is a great cook; we used to eat as a family quite a lot.
"I learned quite a lot from her. I grew up in a hotel as well in the Caribbean, but it was interesting because as a kid I'd pay attention to the chefs in there as well and worked a lot in hotels growing up, so I've always had a keen eye on food."
