'Coronation Street' star Sue Nicholls has turned down 'Celebrity Big Brother' - because she would be a "horrible" housemate.
The 74-year-old actress has portrayed Audrey Roberts on the ITV soap since 1979, and while she is used to playing a character, she doesn't think people would like the real Sue, admitting she "doesn't' even like people that much".
When asked if she could appear on 'CBB', she said: "Never. I couldn't do 'Big Brother'. I've told them 'No'.
"I don't even like people that much. I would be horrible - I would be the worst housemate."
Sue also admitted she wouldn't want to do her teeth with the eyes of the country watching her.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I couldn't bear it. I don't want to have to do stuff like my teeth in front of half the nation."
While Sue doesn't look likely to be rubbing shoulders with any new faces on 'CBB', the soap stalwart recently revealed she recognises people in her local supermarket more than new 'Coronation Street' stars.
Speaking in March, she said: "I seem to know the people at my local Sainsbury's more than I know half of the new 'Coronation Street' cast. What can I say?"
One of Audrey's recent storylines saw her receive messages from beyond the grave from new clairvoyant character Rosemary Piper - played by Sophie Thompson - and Sue particularly enjoyed the plot because she believes in psychics in real life.
She said: "People will think I'm mad, but yes, I do have a belief [in psychics].
"I don't go every day and it doesn't take over my life, but I've had my palm read and I go to see these people, so this is a lovely storyline for me.
"I've been for palm readings, but mainly for Tarot readings and what's been interesting with this storyline is the way the writers have worked it.
"What makes Audrey think this woman is real is that she tells her something that Audrey thought she was the only one who could possibly know about. That made sense to me."
