True Blood's Mehcad Brooks has now joined the cast of CBS's Supergirl series as James 'Jimmy' Olsen.

The actor is to star alongside the previously-announced Melissa Benoist who takes on the title character, and the pair will provide a love interest for one another.
Based on the DC Comics character of the same name, Jimmy lives in Metropolis working at CatCo and enjoying his passion as a young photographer.
Known as a long-time friend of Clark Kent and Superman, he's not aware the pair are the same person and it's not yet known just how his relationships in the comic books will filter into the television series.
Greg Berlanti is developing the show for CBS and currently producers both Arrow and The Flash for The CW.
Brooks is also known for his roles in Desperate Housewives and Necessary Roughness, whilst co-star found fame in Glee's fourth and fifth seasons as Marley Rose.
