A first look video for Prime Video original series’ third season of The Boys was released yesterday (January 8th, 2022), and it shows a short, eerie scene followed by the season’s release date.

The Emmy-nominated drama will be making its way to Prime Video’s streaming service in June of this year (2022). The third season is highly-anticipated among fans of the show, and with eight episodes raring to go, the season’s release can’t come soon enough.

The Boys is a show that focuses on the flip side of superheroes; what if they were as popular as celebrities or influencers, but didn’t always look out for ‘the greater good’ and simply did what they wished?

The series is a fun, cheeky version of what happens when heroes with abilities are seen as gods by the public; gods who abuse their superpowers instead of using them for the good of mankind.

The Boys are a group of gifted vigilantes who seek to continue their heroic mission to discover – and expose – the truth behind The Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes, and covers up their mistakes.

It appears as though it is the powerless against the powerful, but Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) might just have the ambition and gall to tip these scales.

The Boys challenges the idea of what a superhero should be, and gives a new meaning to the word ‘vigilante’; the show sees explosive action in almost every single episode, and give fans the ‘rough and ready’ version of superheroes that we love to see.

Season 3 of The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, with Claudia Doumit, and Jensen Ackles.

The series is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers; it is developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Craig Rosenberg, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers to the show.

Season 3 of The Boys will debut on Prime Video on Friday, June 3rd 2022 with the first three episodes; new episodes will be released weekly until the season finale, which will premiere on July 8th, 2022.
