The former winner of the BBC One series met up with the 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker and told him he isn't putting in enough practice for the weekly competition if he wants to be king of the ballroom.

During an appearance on 'Alan Carr Chatty Man', Alesha shared: "I saw Peter the other night and I asked him how many hours training he has been doing and he said about 6 hours a day. I said if you want to win you are going to have to up your game."

The 42-year-old hunk - who's married to Emily MacDonagh - danced his way to the top spot last weekend with professional partner Janette Manrara.

They scored 30 points for their Cha Cha to Christina Aguilera's hit 'Ain't No Other Man' but Peter said he's under "no illusion" that it could all change this weekend.

Speaking earlier this week, he said: "This is a new week and I'm under no illusion that it could all change. It's a completely different dance - it's ballroom. So I might not quite be there this week but I'm so happy with where I was. Oh man, I was so focused."

Meanwhile, Alesha - who has 22-month-old daughter Azura with boyfriend Azuka Ononye - also confessed to being hungover during rehearsals for the final of 'Strictly...' in 2007.

The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge revealed: "The final was a nightmare for me actually. Matthew Cutler, who was my dancing partner, and I went out and had a party to celebrate the fact we were in the final, got to dress rehearsal on the Friday. I had five dances to do - we used to do real work in my day. He spun me round and round and round and I ended up throwing up in the lovely seating area."

'Alan Carr Chatty Man'airs tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm.
