Former TOWIE star Charlie King yesterday came out as gay on live television, during a segment of This Morning.

The star previously dated Gemma Collins, but has now admitted he's finally coming to terms with his sexuality and is coming out a public platform to help others.

Charlie has now taken to his Instagram account to post a short but sweet video message, thanking fans and supporters for their kind words.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden yesterday he explained: "Our stories will help people, there is a way out.

"You are not alone. I want to be a positive person and tell people, 'You can do this'."

He also told of the moment he first realised he had feelings for the same sex.

"I had a girlfriend, she was the first person I spoke to and told.

"It was a proper relationship but I was very aware when I was seeing her that things weren't quite right. If something doesn't click, it doesn't click.

"I feel so positive about this."
