After the previous night’s exertions in the Jungle Pub, the camp woke up tired.  Antony had previously said that he wanted to give up the cooking duties but seemed unable to let them go entirely.  And when Mark tried to take over, he took issue with the way that Mark handled things.  Could the jungle ‘bromance’ be over?

He explained to camp “I’ll do it.  But I just don’t want it to be a stress thing.  I’m absolutely happy to do it but I’m also happy that last night was my last supper.”

But his actions showed anything but.  Crissy asked him to show her how to chop properly.  “You’re not going anywhere near that knife because you’ll have your fingers with it” he told her.

Mark took it upon himself to make breakfast, spooned huge measures of rice into the water pot but then walked off with Dougie leaving breakfast to make itself.

Antony saw what had happened and insisted on coming to the rescue.  “It’s all hands on deck” and again took over.  “Well so much for not doing the cooking” he said.

He confronted Mark.  “Er, hello?! Have you seriously put rice on for breakfast and then p***ed off.”  “But you took over” countered Mark.  “No that isn’t what happened is it?” replied Antony.  Later he told Mark “We’re looking forward to you being head chef though.  We’re going to do really well portion wise.”

And later Mark said “This is what I was talking about, stressing out about food.  Ok, we’ve done too much but we don’t have to keep talking about it.”

“All you’ve done is put some boiling water and some cupfuls of rice.  What a stress that’s been for you Mark!” Antony replied.

But Mark stuck to his guns.  “What I’m saying is if you keep talking about it, it becomes a stress doesn’t it”

And Antony said in the Bush Telegraph “Mark is more than capable of cooking for himself. Look at him. He’s got the body of an adonis so he clearly looks after his body.  Oh no, he goes out to eat all the time doesn’t he?  He doesn’t have any food in his fridge!”

And later, Antony said “No one else came forward.  “ Pat replied “If I did you’ll all die”.  “Oh right.  I wish I had that excuse” said Antony.
