Crissy Rock

Prince Willie & Princess Crissy were chosen to do the Bushtucker trial yesterday called ‘Mystery Box’. It being the first time for both of them to do a trial Crissy prepared and said: “I just said the lord’s prayer”.

As Crissy and Willie left camp, Dougie said “I have faith in the elders to bring back the goods”.

Crissy said “You feel like a lion that’s gone out and come back to feed the cubs”

A witchetty grub was placed in both their mouths as they wriggled around inside their They both guessed correct and won the star

Willie said “I’d rather be doing this trial with Crissy because in the background you will hear laughter and that will be the spur to keep going”

The object of the trial was to enter a giant black mystery box wearing blindfolds. In there would be a series of different animals and in order to win stars they would have to work together to identify the animal by feel alone. Crissy questioned: “Is it stuffed?” to which Willie laughed.

The only catch with this trial was they would not be allowed to feel with their hands, they would for each of the seven rounds reveal what body part they would be using to identify the animal. They could then confer and guess what it was and if correct win a meal for camp.

Willie & Crissy entered the mystery box in their blind folds and Willie asked Crissy “Are you coming in?…we have to work together you know”.

The rangers brought out the first box and Crissy and Willie put their hands through the box to have a feel. Willie was in for a shock “Ow it bit me….the bloody thing bit me”. Willie continued to have a feel of the furry creature which was actually a possum and shrieked: “it’s a bloody monkey”. Crissy hesitant to have a feel said “It could be a donkey”. Willie guessed: “Oh it is a koala bear”. Crissy then puts her hand in to have a feel of the cure critter and both thought it was either a koala bear or a monkey until Crissy realised koalas don’t have tails. They guessed possum and won a star.

Round two the rangers needed to add a higher box for poor ole Willie as he was too small to reach the box. The box contained octopus. When Willie placed his hand in the box he noticed: “Oh they sucked me!”. Willie got one in his hand and asked Crissy to feel and guess. Crissy: “Is it a cockle?” Willie and Crissy conferred it was soft and sucked like a jellyfish. Crissy and Willie guessed “A large leech or water snail”. They guessed incorrect and lost the star.

Round three they were to have the animal placed inside their mouth for 30 seconds and they couldn’t chew. A witchetty grub was placed in both their mouths as they wriggled around inside their They both guessed correct and won the star.

In the next round, a large blindfolded ostrich was brought in. To which Crissy heard: “It has hooves”. Willie added: “sounds as though it is a bloody horse…bloody hell is it kicking”. They both moved forward slowly for a feel of the animal and Willie suggested: “It is a bloody kangaroo coming towards us”. Crissy guessed correct and Willie agreed “It’s an ostrich” winning their third star.

In the fifth round Crissy and Willie had to kneel down and feel with their hands. They put their hands out to feel the Crocodile in which Crissy thought it was a snake then joked: “It’s a handbag!”. After feeling the animal they both agreed “It’s a baby crocodile” in which they were correct and won the star.

Round six they had to stand in a tray for the next creatures dropped in cockroaches. Willie guessed: “It is not cockroaches…it is crickets”. They gave their final answer much to Willie’s adamant response crickets and lost the star.

In round seven Ant & Dec warned “These might bite”. Crissy guessed straight away “They are ants!”. They both squeal as the green ants bit them with Crissy singing “Always look on the bright side of life”. They guessed correctly and won their fifth and final star.
Willie and Crissy exited the mystery box disappointed they missed out on two of the stars but also pleased with their five out of seven stars to take back to camp.
