No sooner had Dani departed when a row in Camp broke out about who would take her bed.
Most of the celebrities all felt that it should go to Esther but the broadcaster admitted that she was happy to stay outside. David quickly added that he would like to take Dani’s bed, ‘well I’ve had a crappy time so I could go on the bus’. ‘I would be honoured to have you’ replied George.’
Dismissing the suggestion, Brian then asked Martina if she would like to stay on the bus but she too declined. With no-one else opting to sleep there, David continued his quest for the bed ‘I’ve been lying on the floor for 10 days, why shouldn’t I move in the bus.’
‘David if anyone’s uncomfortable whenever and they want to sleep on there the next night..‘ suggested Carly.
David replied, ‘Really you think so?...No I don’t think so I’ve been sitting on the floor quite a long enough actually. I don’t need you to tell me where I can sleep.’
Nicola jumped to her friend’s defense and told the 80’s singer ‘not to speak to her (Carly) like that, she was being nice then.’
As Brian stepped in and suggested he could have said that nicer, David replied: ‘It’s so direct all the time telling me where I can sleep.’
Nicola then added that David had been offered a hammock and chose not to take it, David said ‘But I can’t manage it, you’re 20 years younger than me.’
Angered by his behavior, Nicola then said ‘You’ve got the mental age of an eight year old. You’re the perfect example of why you shouldn’t do what you did in your hay day.’
‘What a happy birthday I’m having’ muttered David.
Having won the battle and gained a bed on the bus David went with George to have a look at his new sleeping quarters ‘So I’m living in the penthouse now’. Asking George if he wants to swap, David then found some of Dani’s things and proceeded to throw them of the bus. George later added ‘David is not the most diplomatic or sensitive person.’
