With two new celebrities in Camp, the celebrities discussed sleeping arrangements. Brian read some instructions. ‘You’ll find a new sleeping area for two celebrities outside camp. The exact location of the Cave. It’s up to you to decide who stays there.’

The Group had a meeting about who should do what and who should sleep where. ‘We want a democratic decision as to who goes where tonight’ said Robert.

Timmy volunteered to sleep in the cave. ‘I’ve said before I’ll go into the cave.’

As the discussion continued, Esther, who is frequently protected by the group, decided that she would like to be considered to sleep in the cave. Aghast, the majority of the camp disagreed, especially Brian.

Worried that Esther might slip if she had to go to the bathroom during the night, the camp asked David why he would not consider sleeping in the cave alongside Timmy Mallet.

Nicola spoke for the group. She said ‘Everyone knows where it’s going. Everyone feels that it’s David (who) should have offered or at least offered an explanation as to why he doesn’t feel like he should go into the cave because as last people in, you two don’t have beds. We’re all sweet. We all have our beds.’

David refused to entertain the idea and without looking at the cave he responded, ‘So it’s alright Jack. I don’t particularly want any of your beds but I don’t want to sleep in the cave.’

Having bonded over their night locked in cages, Timmy informed the camp that David had a fear of the dark, ‘‘Ok I’ll speak up for David here, there’s an issue with the dark for David and it’s not something he’s comfortable talking about. But there was an issue with it last night and I will defend him on that because he certainly didn’t sleep a wink last night in the dark. Once it became light….’

David continued ‘I don’t like it down here. I don’t even want to look at it. I was in a crap place last night. The solitude and the loneliness. It was bad last night.’

Brian pointed out that there would be two people in the cave so there would be no loneliness.

David spoke to Timmy away from the group. ‘I have a plan which I think is going to be fair. I don’t think that those guys have a natural birthright to have those beds. My suggestion is we’ll do it tonight. We’ll tell them it’s for the duration. I ain’t prepared to do it after tomorrow night. If it splits this camp up, so be it.’

Timmy replied. ‘David you’re going to set the cat among the pigeons. You’re going to have a ding dong with quite a few people. Are you comfortable with that.’

David accused the rest of the Camp of bullying the two of them. Timmy disagreed, disputed this and said ‘I think it’s fair’. Timmy continued. ‘Just say yes you’ll do it. That’ll diffuse tonight and then tomorrow raise it and say I’ve done one night. David, I’m feeling rather protective of you. You’re going to walk into the lion’s den doing that and I think you’ll get your head bitten off. Don’t give them a reason to go we hate David. Sometimes you have to go ‘bof’. It’s irrelevant.’

Joe, Robert and Simon all talked by the creek. Joe said ‘I would but if you’d been a bit nicer about it David but to just expect. He said can you decide who’s going so I know what bed I’m staying in.’

Robert said ‘He’s asking you to do it for him. What’s he done for us? Why has he done for us that we should give up our beds?’
