The merging of the Camps and the arrival of two new celebrities caused some problems in the dynamic of the group.

Both the previously named Home and Away Camps had their own ways of doing things and both were finding it difficult to adjust.

Joe praised Martina for the unsung work that she did around Camp. Brian said that he was unsure as to how much rice and beans constituted a portion. ‘I don’t know how much beans or rice is one measure so I asked Martina and we all need to make sure we can do what we need to do.’

But Nicola took issue with the ex-cop. ‘I’m not meaning to be rude but we did all that in our old camp. Me and Simon did all the cooking.’ And Esther added ‘We came into your set up because you had your own structure.’

Carly joined in. ‘We all try and do things Brian. I always offer’

Brian clarified his position. ‘I’m not saying you don’t do anything. I suddenly realized I didn’t know how much was a portion of rice and so I asked Martina. I’m not complaining.’

Robert added ‘The truth is Dani, Martina and him (Brian) like doing what they’re doing.’

Brian later explained ‘Sometimes when you live so closely with people you think everyone’s a package and they’ve got good points and bad points. I’d be lost without them even if they’re annoying me at this fraction of a moment.

He told Joe ‘You keep spirits up here Joe. We’d be lost without you.'

Robert summed up the situation in the Bush Telegraph. ‘It’ is getting difficult here because we had a clear regime as to who did what. There were people who cooked, did the washing up. We all knew. We’ve come to this camp and in a sense we’ve deferred to them because it’s their camp and they’re clearly doing things but it does seem there is a lack of definition as to what we do and sometimes it looks like we’re not pulling our weight. I think Brian would like control in the nicest possible way. I think he wants some law and order as I do but I’m not going to interfere because they’re set in their ways. But I’m not going to take the initiative. I think it’s interesting to watch it evolve.’
