Simon Cowell with Lauren Silverman at Health Lottery Tea Party

Simon Cowell thinks Bars and Melody have a good shot at taking home the winner's title from this year's Britain's Got Talent final.

The show's head judge pressed his Golden Buzzer to send the BAM boys - rapper Leondre Devries and vocalist Charlie Lenehan - to guarantee they went through in their audition and now they're in the final he thinks they can go all the way and get the chance to perform for The Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.

Speaking at The Health Lottery Champagne Tea Party held at The Savoy Hotel in London on Monday (02.06.14), he said: "My gold buzzers have got a shot ... For the acts winning the show is important because you get the Royal Variety Performance and you get the money so it's better to be first than second."

Simon - who has a three-month-old son Eric with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman - also revealed he and the other judges, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon, are set to decide who the 'Wild Card' act will be for the final on Saturday night (07.06.14) in the next couple of days.

He told BANG Showbiz: "We're going to agree on it (the Wild Card), we've all got different choices but we'll get there in the end. The final is going to be great."

Simon, 54, accepts this year's final has a lot of singers but he doesn't think it's a problem because they are the acts the public voted for.

He is also looking forward to seeing returning 'X Factor' judge Cheryl Cole perform her new single 'Crazy Stupid Love' on 'BGT' on Saturday.

When asked if there are too many music acts in the final, Simon answered: "It's the way it's worked out this year, the public decide so it is what it is but it's going to be a big night and a very close contest. It's going to be a very tight competition. I already know some of the songs the acts are going to be doing and some of the routines and I know it's going to a fantastic evening. And we have Cheryl performing, I'm excited about it."
