Taylor Swift is now being lined up to replace a mentor on The Voice US.

The singer's currently working alongside the panel of judges Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Adam Levine, but has made such a good impression, producers want to invite her back on a permanent basis if a chair becomes vacant.

Speaking to HollywoodLife.com a source revealed: "Taylor Swift is great, she filmed her segments and it was basically a job, but she had fun and really had a lot to say. But when it comes to 'The Voice', everyone loves her on it and it will show on TV.

"When the producers approached her, it was an approach to groom her into a future position on the panel of judges if they ever need one and it fits everyone's schedule."

Taylor recently said she enjoys the show and being "direct" with critique.

"I try to react to them the way that I like to be critiqued, which is constructive criticism.

"I like to tell them what they're doing well and what they should keep, but give them very specific things that they should maybe change or adjust.

"'You're doing this mannerism too much, or you're only holding that guitar because it's comfortable for you. Put it down'. You know, things like that. I try to be really direct."
