The 26-year-old star - who came third on the 2009 series of the talent contest - thinks the standard of talent on this year's show is very high, but she is particularly impressed by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's category.

She said: "I like the bands this year, I think the groups are really kicking off.

"It's the first time really early on I've thought, 'Oh my god, the groups are really good'. But once you get to this stage, everyone is really good, they've sifted through all of the crowds."

And Stacey has advised the contestants to "enjoy" their experience on the show, regardless of how long they stay in the competition, because it is such a special time.

Speaking at the launch of the Disney Store's From Our Family to Yours Christmas campaign, she told BANG Showbiz: "I say the same thing every year - enjoy it. It's such an amazing experience and I loved every single second of it.

"I feel so lucky to have been on the show, sometimes people don't live it while they're in it and I think you just have to live it and enjoy it, because whatever the outcome, that experience will be a lifetime of memories."

Despite her own years of success, Stacey - who was joined at the event by her sons Zachary, seven, and Leighton, three - is unsure why her career has lasted so long or what this year's hopefuls can do in order to stay in the spotlight.

Asked the secret to longevity, she said: "I have no idea. I genuinely have no idea, I don't know what the formula is, just be a good person and work really hard."

Other stars who attended last night's (03.11.15) event - which benefitted both Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and In Kind Direct - with their families included Michelle Heaton, Adele Silva, Chris Hollins, Tamara Ecclestone and Vanessa Feltz.

The 'From Our Family to Yours' initiative invites families to take a festive photo in the Disney Store or dig out a classic from the family photo album and share their treasured moments through Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #DisneyStoreFamily. Each family that submits a photo will be entered into a competition to win a family trip to New York, including a private shopping spree at the Disney Store in Times Square.

For every family photo shared, a soft toy will be donated to a child through Disney Store's chosen national charities, up to a total of 15,000 across the UK, France and Ireland.
