It's the part of the competition all hopefuls in The X Factor dread this weekend, as the Six Chair Challenge makes its return to the reality competition.

Promising some amazing performances from all of the acts that got through Boot Camp, the judges - Simon Cowell, Sharon Obsourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger - will face some of their toughest decisions so far, as they choose the six final acts in their category that they'd like to take through to Judges' Houses.

For the first time in the competition, acts will have to perform live in front of a studio audience, and judges will be forced then and there whether the act on stage is allowed to take one of the six seats on stage, representing a place in the next stage of the competition.

However, those who do win seats early still face an anxious wait until the competition is over in their category, as each judge is able to swap an act already through with someone else who may out-perform them at any time.

Check out the two performances below to see a little of what you can expect from this weekend's explosive episodes:

Saturday, September 24 - James Hughes

Sunday, September 25 - Irina Dedyuk

The X Factor continues at 8pm on Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.

This year TalkTalk has launched a new app called FX Star which offers fans of the show the chance to appear in The X Factor ad breaks, allowing viewers to create their own videos with the chance to appear on national TV. Hot on the trend of 'filters', the new app allows fans to overlay animated creatives on their own image and sing away to a variety of songs.

Building on the growing popularity of filters, X Factor fans can now overlay animated filters on their image as they perform.
