The former Westlife singer has claimed he was approached by bosses of the soap about meeting up to discuss a possible role but had to turn it down because of his busy schedule.
He shared: "I did actually get asked to go and have a meeting with 'Coronation Street' about doing a role in it but time wouldn't let me because I was doing 'Who's Doing The Dishes' and I had an album coming out.
"I couldn't live in Manchester for nine months or whatever it was. I just told them I didn't have the time."
The 35-year-old star believes the role they wanted him for was that of Aidan Connor, which eventually went to former 'X Factor' winner Shayne Ward.
He told The Sun newspaper: "They asked if I would be available for this amount of time and it would be for a role. It sounded fun but I just didn't have nine months to be in Manchester. I think Shayne Ward got the job."
And although Brian admitted he thought being in a soap would be "fun", he has no plans to audition any time soon.
He added: "I just couldn't give up that amount of time. I would probably give up that amount of time for a movie but not to do TV."
Meanwhile, a spokesman for 'Coronation Street' has insisted that "everyone who we auditioned for the role of Aidan had acting experience."
Brian's claim comes after 'Corrie' producer Stuart Blackburn - who is being replaced by 'Emmerdale' boss Kate Oates next year - was accused of using gimmicky celebrity appearances to try to boost ratings.
In addition to Shayne joining the soap, Sarah Harding and comedian Paddy McGuinness have also made guest appearances this year.
