Vernon (Ian Reddington) is getting all his documents sorted to work abroad when his mood is dampenned by the appearance of Liz (Beverley Callard). She asks him to take her with him but he refuses and gets ready for Lloyd (Craig Charles) to take him to the airport. Before they leave Liz gives Lloyd a cassette to play to Vernon on the journey. Vernon is surprised to hear the tape is full of soul music and he begins to reminisce about his time with Liz. Lloyd admits to him that Liz gave him the tape so he could play it to him, will it be enough to give Vernon second thoughts on leaving?Leanne (Jane Danson) tries to play down her staff problems to an anxious Roger (Andrew Dunn) and promises that she will pay him back as soon as possible. In desperation she goes to see Carla (Alison King) at Michelle's flat. Leanne tells her that the restaurant was her idea and that she would still be happy for Carla to invest. Leanne realises that Carla is not interested and goes to leave but Carla stops her and tells her she may be able to help her. Has Carla had a change of heart?Ashley (Steven Arnold) and Josh surprise Claire (Julia Haworth) with a visit. He tells her he cannot cope on his own but she reassures him that she will not be away for long.Jason (Ryan Thomas) isn't pleased at seeing Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Pat (Sean Hughes) together.
