David's (Jack P Shepherd) indignant when Gail (Helen Worth) mentions that she'd like him to start paying rent now that he's working. He's furious and refuses to give her a penny, claiming that she's just trying to punish him for not staying on at school. Later, when Gail is unpacking her shopping David and Darryl (Jonathan Dixon) are playing with the air rifle and David decides to teach Gail a lesson by shooting a hole in her shopping. When Gail realises what's happened she immediately accuses David and drags him back into the house to tidy up the mess he's made. However, that afternoon, after having a chat with Gail, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) gives David his wages minus the money Gail has asked him to pay her towards the house. David's livid and after having a blazing row with his mum, he packs his bags and walks out of the house, telling Gail to have a happy life. Gail's incredulous but worried about what David might do next. What is he capable of? Meanwhile, Ashley's (Steven Arnold) spent the night on the Webster's sofa, who reassure him he can stay as long as he likes. Kevin (Michael Le Vell) tries to encourage Ashley, but he's inconsolable, convinced he’s blown it.

As Ashley arrives back at his house he's crushed to find Claire (Julia Haworth) more resolute than ever that she will not forgive him and is already planning for their future apart. Will Claire come round?

At Weatherfield General, Violet (Jenny Platt) and Sean (Antony Cotton) nervously arrive for the scan and are put at ease by a good looking sonographer called Marcus.

Sean quickly makes it clear that although he is the child’s father he is also single, gay and available.

They're both relieved that the scan goes well but Sean is torn between looking at his baby and at Marcus!

As the pair arrives home, Sean's excited as he reveals that Marcus gave him his phone number. Will Sean and the sonographer hit it off?
