A furious Tina McIntyre is to slap lover Peter Barlow in a heated confrontation next week on Coronation Street.
The Weatherfield barmaid - played by Michelle Keegan - turns violent as she realises Peter (Chris Gascoyne) has no intention of calling off his marriage with Carla (Alison King) to be with her.
A source told Inside Soap magazine: "He does love a gamble, does our Peter. He's playing a high-risk game and he thinks he can keep Tina onside. Let's hope for his sake that he can."
Peter has promised to tell Carla about his illicit affair with Tina, but she is left fuming - and heartbroken - upon discovering he still hasn't followed through on his vow.
The insider added: "How hasn't she learned what he's like? Peter is as familiar with the concept of honesty as Emily Bishop is with going out clubbing. It would appear Tina is heading for serious disappointment. She'll never get Peter to do what he doesn't want to do."
The soap love triangle will be further complicated when the less-than-maternal Carla discovers she's pregnant next week.
However, Peter's two worlds collide as Tina also falls pregnant with his baby in a sensational storyline that will lead to Michelle's exit from 'Corrie' later this year.
