Leanne (Jane Danson) is panicking about Paul’s (Tom Hudson) threat to go to the police, Dan (Matthew Crompton) tries to assure her the threat is empty and Paul would be mad to confess as he'd go down too. Despite Dan’s words of support, Leanne reasons Paul's lost everything and he's dangerous. When Paul arrives at the bookies later and demands his money, she tries to talk him round, claiming he can do much better than her and they should just split the money and pretend this never happened. Dan intervenes and calls his bluff, infuriating Paul, who takes out his phone and tells the police he’d like to confess to an arson attack, while Leanne and Dan are forced to stand and watch helplessly. Will they cough up before it’s too late? Audrey (Sue Nicholls) has decided not to do anything about Ted and goes to visit David (Jack P Shepherd) with Gail (Helen Worth) determined to stay positive for David's sake. As the three of them chat and struggle to maintain a veneer of normality, David apologises again for everything he's done - being in the young offenders institute has made him realise that unlike most of the boys in there he has had a good upbringing and there’s no excusing what he's done - he's a criminal and he deserves to be there. Will prison change David? Meanwhile, Kirk (Andrew Whyment) questions if Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is going to be in the pub later as he was thinking of taking Julie (Katy Kavanagh) for a drink. Eager to meet her, Fiz assures its fine. As Kirk introduces Julie, it becomes apparent that they’re a good match, everyone does their best to make her feel welcome while Fiz assures her she’s got a good bloke in Kirky. Does Julie's arrival mean the end to the tension between Kirk and Fiz? After listening to Maria (Samia Smith) complain about how she feels ugly now she's put some weight on, Liam (Rob James-Collier) arrives back from town and presents a delighted Maria with a designer maternity dress. Elsewhere, Vernon (Ian Reddington) is worried about telling Liz when he loses all his money after placing all his winnings on a dud horse. Also, Chesney (Sam Aston) is gutted when he doesn't get the main part in the school play. This episode is written by Chris Fewtrell, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Dominic Leclerc.
