Marc Baylis once had his head smashed into a wall by a co-star filming scenes on Coronation Street.

The 36-year-old actor plays the ITV soap's resident bad boy Rob Donovan and as he does all his own stunts and fight scenes, Marc admits sometimes he does get hurt by accident, as he did recently while filming with Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow).

He explained: "In a scene on the other week, when Peter pins Rob up against the wall, there was a couple of times when my head got smacked into the wall for real."

However, Marc - whose character is married to Tracy Barlow (Kate Connerty) - says his injury wasn't as bad as his co-star thought it was at the time.

He told The Sun newspaper: "Chris was concerned that we should stop but we carried on. I'd have been annoyed if we'd stopped. It sounded worse than it was ... either the wall or my head sounded hollow."

Marc - who studied stage combat at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London - also revealed that he doesn't think it will be long before his turbulent relationship with Tracy turns violent.

He said: "Every scene with Rob and Tracy is verbal fighting and tennis. She hasn't even slapped me yet. I'll give it three months.

"Rob really doesn't want Tracy to find out about his kiss with Tina [McIntyre, played by Michelle Keegan]. That's where that slap would come in, if Tracy found out."
