The 37-year-old actor recently reprised the role of Robbie Jackson in the BBC One soap for eight episodes but is keen to return for a longer stint so he can find out just what trouble his character has got himself into since moving to India.

Dean said: "It would be interesting to see where Robbie's been. It's been nice to dip in for these eight episodes but they haven't really gone down the route of what Robbie's actually been up to as obviously it's feeding into Lindsey's [Coulson] storyline, who plays Carol, so it would be interesting to see if they want to take that up in the future."

Although Dean hasn't properly appeared in the soap since 2003, he insists the majority of the employees on the north London set are still the same.

He told ITV's 'Good Morning Britain': "It's been a nice feeling going back because after 12 years of growing up on the show, all the staff are the same. All of the crew are the same, the camera people are the same, all the people who work on the help desk are the same.

"Obviously the cast has changed, that's inevitable, but all the cast are a nice family unit up there at the moment."
