Losing the feeling in his legs, Stan collapses but refuses to let any of his family travel in the ambulance with him to hospital after their falling out. Sonia's told by Martin that he's been asked by Ian to look after Cindy and that Rebecca's also coming to stay, but then drops the bombshell that their daughter doesn't want to see her. Kush is warned by Masood to keep his distance from a heartbroken Shabnam, who's later told by her father that he plans to raise enough money to buy the Argee Bhajee.

Stan's behaviour as he lies in hospital frustrates the Carter family, and when he demands to go to a care home, Tina's desperate to find the money he lent to Dean so they can give it back to him. Meanwhile, Martin's struggling to deal with his daughter Rebecca on his own and when she returns home from school after being sent home for bad behaviour, he gives in and asks Sonia for help. Kush is spotted by Shabnam buying flowers for a mystery person leaving her distraught, whilst Donna and Fat Boy continue to bond.

Stan's lonely and frustrated at being stuck in his hospital with room-mate Cyril, but perks up when an apologetic Tina turns up. Even happier with the arrival of Cora, Aunt Babe is less than pleased to see her and the two end up coming to blows. Carol's confided in by Martin about his Rebecca problems, whilst Sonia and Tina admit feelings for one another, deciding to keep any relationship a secret for now.

Organising a party in the Vic for Donna's birthday, Pam puts on a great spread and things get off to a great start, but it all goes downhill when Martin drunkenly flirts with the guest of honour as part of a bet. Confronted about his behaviour by Sonia, she regrets her decision when he makes a revelation. Elsewhere, Shabnam's given the confidence to face Kush by Tamwar, but is shocked by what he has to tell her, and Cindy invites Liam to come round, who arrives with alcohol for her and Rebecca.
