At the end of her tether, a nicotine-deprived Val (Charlie Hardwick) storms round to the post office, leaving with a packet of cigarettes. As she takes a long, satisfying drag in the backroom, she’s interrupted by Paul (Mathew Bose) and in a panic tosses the cigarette into the bin, leaving it smouldering. Are Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) plans to house the kids at the pub about to go up in smoke? Meanwhile, Rodney (Patrick Mower) and Pollard (Chris Chittell) continue to chide each other as Rodney keeps his feet very much under the table. Stuck in the middle, Val suggests to Paul that he may want to put his father up for a while. Is there room at the inn for Rodney?Still upset over her war of words with Kelly (Adele Silva), Viv (Deena Payne) takes on board Bob’s (Tony Audenshaw) counsel when he points out that although she lost a husband, a father can never be replaced. A remorseful Viv tries to make amends with Kelly but is she willing to listen?
