Ashley (John Middleton) feels lonely following Jasmine's (Jenna-Louise Coleman) exit from Mulberry Cottage but Emily (Kate McGregor) is there to support him. However, Sam (James Hooton) continues to worry for his friend, yet when he voices his concerns about her situation when Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) eventually returns, Emily accuses him of jealousy. Later, Ashley cooks Emily dinner but with Sam's words playing on her mind she dashes out suddenly. Ashley's stunned, but will he discover the root of the problem?Meanwhile, Jasmine's article about Marlon (Mark Charnock) receives acclaim from the villagers. Buoyant, Jasmine seeks to place the article in a national paper and succeeds. When she tells Donna (Verity Rushworth), the conversation turns to the night of the shooting. Donna is stunned to hear that Marlon gave Jasmine a lift into Hotten and confronts her husband about his second lapse of information. Is Donna edging closer to the truth?Elsewhere, Pearl (Meg Johnson) arrives back in the village but Turner (Richard Thorp) greets her with bad news. She reacts poorly to his failure to stop the eviction and faces up to a life on the streets. Burdened with guilt, David (Matthew Wolfenden) offers to help Pearl move out. As the last boxes are packed and stacked, Pearl breaks down in Turner's arms in front of a watching David. Will guilt overcome his Pollard instinct?
