Lachlan faces the brunt of his mother's anger over the damage to their home, but Chrissie is left staggered when the troubled youngster shows zero remorse over his recent behaviour. Across the village David is doing his best to ensure Alicia doesn't move Jacob away, but the pair are both left surprised when the police turn up to make an arrest. Jimmy's roped in by Carly in her quest to get her belongings back from her ex-fiancé, whilst James suspects Chas and Paddy are more than just friends and Sam does his best to find a way to prove his loyalty to Rachel.

With suspicions about Chas and Paddy's relationship raised, James' jealousy leads to some huge arguments and Emma manipulates the situation to her own advantage. Jacob speaks to Rakesh for legal representation so he can confess about smashing up Home Farm, which leaves Alicia torn over just what's the best next move to make. Chrissie's ex Donny arrives hoping he can deal with Lachlan, and the break-in at Sunil's house sees Carly and Jimmy questioned by police.

After spending the night with Emma, James feels awkward and it's clear that the fling is going to make his life extremely difficult. Brenda's grateful when Bob tells her that his daughter's no longer welcome in their home, but it doesn't take long for Carly to find a new ally. Chrissie's happy with the way in which Donny deals with Lachlan and the pair agree on the best next step. Elsewhere, Aaron's confused about why Robert's so rattled by the presence of his wife's ex.

In a double episode, Lachlan refuses to go to counselling leaving his mother at a loss. Smug Donny however uses methods to get his son onside, but the mysteries surrounding this newcomer grow when he gets a secretive phone call. James lets his guilt get the better of him as he confesses all to Moira, and she's clear in her advice to let Chas know what happened before his ex-wife does. Sean's lack of progress has Dan and Ali worried, whilst Belle's suggestion that she should move to Leeds leaves Lisa unhappy.

Later, Chas discovers the truth behind James' night with Emma and throws him out on his ear. Ali suggests she does a job share with Rachel so she can see Sean when necessary, but is shocked to find out her sister earns more than she does. Meanwhile, Lachlan's happy to see his father Donny stand his ground against both Paddy and Cain in the village.

Bundled into the back of a car, Donny's left battered, bruised and bloodied by the time he returns to Home Farm, but are the people responsible the same ones who attacked Robert? Work leaves Ali unable to visit Sean and she ends up taking out her frustration on Rachel, whilst Jai's heard by Lisa saying he's understaffed, giving her ideas about Belle. Unfortunately for her, things don't exactly work out how she'd have liked...
