With Henk back in town for a visit, Cassie can’t wait to get her last exam out of the way and, keeping this part of her plan a secret from Sally, join him on an overseas trip. Henk himself has other ideas. He may have been perfectly willing to indulge in a night of passion with her before breaking the news, but the next day he returns from a chat with Brad to tell Cassie that, now he's had time to reflect, he’d like to extend the break they’ve been taking from their relationship for another six months. The boy who cried wolf?Meanwhile, Dan comes under fire at work for presuming Aden to be up to his old tricks when, minutes before his final HSC exam, he says he’s too ill to work; it was only the previous night that Dan spotted him playing pool in the Surf Club, and he’s got no medical certificate to back up his claims. Presuming that it’s just Aden’s attempt at getting special provision, Dan forces him to go through with the test – only to have him collapse halfway through. When it’s later confirmed that Aden’s suffering from a gastro bug, it falls to Sally to deliver the unwelcome news that, if his parents decide to make a formal complaint, Dan may face disciplinary action. For old times' sakeWhile he may cop his fair share of abuse from Cassie for his supposed involvement in her break-up with Henk, as well as having to endure an awkward confrontation with Heather about her gambling, Brad can at least look forward to a round or two of farewell drinks with his soon-to-be former colleagues. This time the celebrations include Sally, who delivers a typically gracious speech as she wishes him well for the future. And it clearly strikes a chord: the following evening, she’s delighted when Brad joins her for a glass of wine. Before long the pair are reminiscing about old times and sharing a passionate kiss. Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to them both, Colleen steps in at the crucial moment and immediately makes her get away – presumably to spill the beans to the rest of the Bay.
