For the benefit of those who are just joining us, we'd like to point out what a cold-hearted tool Leah's recently-returned brother Alex can be. But nothing could sum this up better than his Wikipedia entry, which includes the following gem: "Following a crash that left Hayley disfigured and with memory loss, Alex and Brodie decided to get engaged." Charming. Hayley was his stunning (if swap-headed) girlfriend at the time, you see, and Brodie was a girl with the gappy smile of a seven-year-old and the perm of an HE teacher. Now that's got to hurt. Anyway, Leah offers sympathy towards her bro now he's the one that's been given the boot. "I know things haven't been easy for you," she squawks, "but I promise you they're going to get better." Yeah, right. Alex takes advantage of his sister's kindness by begging for a few hundred dollars to put himself up in a caravan for a while, but Sally shouldn't expect to see any of Leah's smackers anytime soon. We later see Alex on the phone to a mystery acquaintance that's clearly pressuring him for cash. Obviously there's much more to his return than he's letting on...Girls and boysBelle, meanwhile, is doing what she can to win back Drew after their falling out last week. But no matter how many times she apologises, Drew clings to his pride like a rabid macaque to a banana. Jules has a similar lack of success with Cassie. You see, his big plan to win her heart consists of lurking in a caravan in stockings and suspenders - well, horrid Primark pants - and waiting for her to discover him in a provocative pose. Unfortunately, Alex is the one who finds him first, and Cassie is mortified. "What am I supposed to do now?" she wonders. "Throw myself at you?" It's a good question. "No", Jules confirms. "Unless you want to..." And funnily enough, she doesn't, as the whole scenario is about as sexy as discovering Alf doing the can-can in his Y-fronts must be. What a dag.Splash, dash and crash

Things look more promising for both non-couples when Belle agrees to host a pool party. But as she and Drew dive into the water and snog like it's the only thing that will keep them afloat, Jules is annoyed to see that Cassie has brought along a plus one in the form of Alex.

His attempts to compete for her attention fail miserably, and matters between Belle and Drew turn equally pear-shaped when she discovers that he's spent the afternoon texting another woman. Humiliated, Jules and Drew stomp out of the party - but Jules soon skulks back to have another go at pleasing Cass.

His attitude changes yet again, though, when he overhears Alex and Cassie guffawing to Belle about their saucy run-in with him that morning. Retaliation is on the cards. So, with his too-close-together magpie eyes, he spies Alex's motorbike parked in the driveway, wheels it away and promptly drives it into a ditch.
