Poor Brad. With the investigation now talk of the town, and headlines of "Principal turns blind eye to affair" littering the front pages of the local rags, things aren’t looking good – not least because, courtesy of Naomi's desperate lies, Inspector Jane now thinks he's a drug addict as well as a liar. There is, of course, a reasonable explanation for what happened, and Brad makes sure Sal's the first to know: the drugs were for Emily (his late wife, for anyone who's just joining us) as a form of pain relief in her dying days. Jane is not quite so easily convinced. "I think it's unforgivable that you would use your dying wife to hide your habit," she snaps, referring back to the matter of him experimenting with drugs as a teen. Jane is eventually won over by Rachel, who gives medical evidence to support the pain-relieving qualities of marijuana for cancer patients, but Brad's future is still uncertain. So when Sally later gets the chance to help him, knowing that what she's found out will hurt Lucas in the process, she's torn over what to do. You see, Lucas gets so worked up that he accidentally reveals to Sally that Naomi slept with Tony – a fact that will hardly work in Naomi's favour. Sally goes to Jane in confidence, but the response is as she feared: without another round of interviews, Luc’s claim can't go on record. Knowing that allowing the information to become public would expose Lucas to more pain, Sally chooses to protect him over Brad. But will she come to regret her decision?Between the linesMeanwhile, Geoff's found out about Lucas's relationship with Naomi and sees this as even more reason why his rival should stop tutoring Annie. Luc agrees without a fight – perhaps surprisingly, given the way these two seem to relish confrontation – but Annie is devastated.

Still struggling with her work, and given a 5pm deadline for handing it in, Annie turns up at Luc's place begging him to help her. He reluctantly agrees, leaving her there to finish the assignment while he heads off for an ultimately disastrous meeting with Naomi – a meeting which sees him being rejected after confessing his feelings.

To make matters worse, an even greater problem is lying in wait at home. No sooner has he made it through the front door than Bruce comes bursting in and he's on the warpath (fortunately without his trademark gun, or what happens next could have turned out rather differently): where's his granddaughter? Unfortunately for Luc, she's asleep in his bed. And you know just what Bruce assumes has happened…
