After her ordeal with Dom, Belle struggles to hold it together when she and Drew later return home to Irene’s to face an intense series of questions about the day’s events. While she may unconvincingly manage to explain her earlier text message as a fault with her phone, Belle is clearly distracted; the only way she can take a load off is to confess all to Drew about the real reason behind his being kept out of jail over the stolen parts racket. Although his reaction is initially far from understanding, he soon enough finds it in his heart to forgive her – she wouldn’t have kissed Dom out of choice, after all – and the pair are all over each other again. But later that night, as they lie asleep in bed, Dom climbs in to the room through the open window and watches over them before making his escape. What’s he planning next?New beginningsHaving been given a second chance by the selector, Geoff is busy preparing for his big football game; if all goes well, he’ll be saying goodbye to Summer Bay and going straight to the training camp that evening. It is, of course, a bittersweet time for Annie, who’s struggling to get past the idea of life without her brother nearby, and the fact of his making her invite Tam to the match does little to lift her spirits. It’s therefore to her surprise that Tam shows a sensitive side, picking up on her worries and encouraging her to remain positive for Geoff on what ultimately turns out to be a life-changing day.

Poor Annie may eventually drop the front when, with Geoff’s winning goal also scoring him a place on the team, she has to bid him goodbye, but could this also be the start of an unlikely friendship between her and her former worst enemy?

Something's gotta give

Meanwhile, Leah’s still stewing over the news of Dan’s job offer – a situation made all the worse by his interpreting her reaction as nothing more than a case of a bruised ego following his mystery meetings with another woman.

Needless to say, their many heated discussions haven’t escaped Colleen’s notice, and there’s only so much she can hold back when it comes to the prospect of becoming jobless and penniless in the event of Leah’s departure.

‘It’s about time Dan realised that life is about sacrifice and struggle,’ she preaches, hoping to talk her friend into standing firm on her wish to stay in the Bay.

Far from have the desired effect, it’s enough for Leah to realise that she can’t be the one to crush such an amazing opportunity for Dan; the next morning, she tells him that she’s prepared to give the move a go.

What neither of them have counted on, though, is that Colleen’s not the Bay’s only sticky beak; Ryan, too, has overheard their plans and, beginning to realise that he may just be about to be torn away from mother Amanda, decides to take a stand.
