Quickly realising her mistake as she enjoys a kiss with her ex, Martha reels backwards and, after bumping into Tony and Rory on her way, runs straight home to Michael – to whom she immediately reveals that she’s ready to pack up and start again somewhere new. Jack, on the other hand, is left more confused than ever, and when he later shows up on Tony’s doorstep wanting a place to stay, it doesn’t take long for his father to put two and two together, urging him to make his decision over the two women in his life. Certain that this is his chance to correct past mistakes, Jack arranges to meet Martha the following day but soon finds himself otherwise engaged when an attention-seeking Rory lands himself in trouble with the police. As Sam watches the minutes tick by at the wedding rehearsal, it falls to Tony to step in and warn Martha off. By the time Jack arrives for their rendezvous, she’s already gone – sending him straight to the chapel to commit to a future with Sam.Have I said too much?Meanwhile, Matilda can’t help but notice that Cassie is far from her usual bubbly self; not even the suggestion of a group road trip comes as a suitable pick-me-up. Although a guilty Ric tries his best to convince her that the newly single Cassie’s standoffish behaviour is nothing more than her finding it hard spending time in the company of other couples, Matilda worries that it’s a sign of something more; she waits until later that day before attempting a heart-to-heart discussion, during which Cassie does her best to keep to Ric’s cover story about the cause of her woes – adding the disappointment of the messy formal for good measure. A resulting confrontation with the man himself sees Cassie promise to keep quiet for all their sakes, but Viv has other ideas. When she later runs into Matilda, she can’t resist taking the opportunity to commend her determination. ‘It takes a pretty strong woman to forgive an indiscretion,’ Viv says with a smirk. ‘Still, it was only one night.'
