Elle invents a fictional brother in order to covertly suss out Oliver’s charming school principal father, Richard Aaronow. When he catches her out in the lie, Elle makes a fast getaway but inadvertently leaves her Lassiter’s ID behind. After Oliver finally tells her the horrifying truth about why he doesn’t want to know his treacherous father, Elle’s relieved her anonymous visit hasn’t put Rebecca and Oliver in peril. But unbeknown to Elle, Richard has used her ID to track her to Lassiter’s. When Richard sees Elle reconciling with Rebecca, he can’t help but follow them…Karl’s concern about his employer deepens when his boss issues a veiled threat to stop Karl from continuing to investigate defects in Vivex pharmaceuticals. Toadie warns Karl against crossing swords with such a powerful enemy, and when Susan and Miranda are nearly run down by a suspicious motorbike, Karl takes matters into his own hands, falsely pledging loyalty to Vivex so he can find the evidence that will bring them down. Ned becomes Mickey’s football coach, and he and Mickey revel in the fun of having the team over for a group bonding session. But crowding Paul’s house with kids makes Ned realise he needs to find a permanent home for him and Mickey. Janae offers the Timmins house but Ned questions living together out of convenience rather than love.
