Pepper recognises Lolly’s symptoms of abuse and urges her to open up. Fearing that the truth will force her to face her stepmother, Lolly accuses Pepper of getting violent with her. Lou wants blood but Susan urges him to confront Lolly about the mysterious bruise on her shoulder, just in case she is under threat from someone else. Eager to minimise the fallout from her lie, guilty Lolly claims that the bruise was just the result of an accident. Meanwhile, Pepper is suspended and must face a Departmental inquiry.Having made the sad decision to end their marriage, Max and Steph break the news to Summer and Boyd. Boyd takes the news badly until Max explains the wisdom behind realising when a relationship has naturally come to an end. Max announces his move to Gippsland to return to work on the oilrigs, and he and Steph part as friends, united in concern for the kids. Pepper desperately needs her mum but she feels undeserving of support after her appalling behaviour towards Chris since Christmas. However, Chris is ready with open arms to help her daughter. With the teens divided over Pepper’s suspension, Ringo and Rachel clash over whether to report the story. But when Susan threatens to postpone the launch of the blogzine, Ringo surprises Rachel by arguing passionately to remain on schedule.
