Played by actress Tina O'Brien, Sarah is to attempt to take her troublesome daughter Bethany back to Italy when she runs away to Weatherfield, but is convinced to stay when Callum (Sean Ward) tells her that her future is on the cobbles.

Show producer Stuart Blackburn explained the love is to lead to trouble for her younger brother David (Jack P. Shepherd) who's the stepfather of Callum's biological son Max.

Blackburn revealed: "Very quickly, Callum takes a real liking to Sarah. And it's a liking that's returned. So there'll be huge problems for David.

"David's got his own massive problems. Callum has taken a real liking to Max. And Max is his biological son. He's got almost as many rights to Max as David does."

Meanwhile, Lucy Fallon who was cast as Bethany following Katie Redford's axing, has admitted she's excited and nervous ahead of her on-screen debut in March.

She shared: "Walking onto the set was surreal and nerve wracking but everyone has been really welcoming and I am thrilled to have been given this great opportunity."
