If you know someone who’s vegan and have no idea what to gift them this Christmas here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling.

A vegan hamper: Food companies are launching new vegan products every day so there is no longer a shortage of edible gifts you can buy for the vegan in your life. If you wait closer to the big day- you might happen across some seasonal vegan fare, however if you want to keep it general- visit the free-from aisle in your local supermarket or look for accidental vegan foods online, work out your budget and fill the hamper according to how much money you want to spend.

Vegan toiletries: Much like the food companies, beauty brands are creating new vegan and cruelty free products all the time. If you do your research, you can find lots of different options online or even in your local store. Ask your vegan friend/family member/colleague what their favourite products are and if they are on the pricier side, you could gift them one or two bottles/boxes instead.

A vegan documentary: If you know they like to settle down with some dark chocolate and watch something about their lifestyle why not invest in a DVD of Blu-Ray they will enjoy? Blackfish, Cowspiracy or Eating Animals are just a few they might find interesting.

A vegan cookbook: Chefs are coming up with new recipes all the time and compiling them into books so there is no shortage of cookery books for the plant-based community. BISH, BASH, BOSH! or Jamie Oliver’s new book Veg are just a couple of new releases that might peak their interest.

A vegan book: Just like cookbooks, there is a huge range of books dedicated to this lifestyle- BOSH! How to live vegan is set to be one of this year’s biggest hits- but if they already have this on order, there are plenty of others to send their way- just take a look on Amazon or ask in your local bookstore and you will be spoiled for choice.

A vegan restaurant voucher: There are vegan and vegetarian restaurants popping up all over the place, just search your local town or city for one online. You could get them a voucher for here, or for a restaurant chain you know has a separate vegan menu or a good range of vegan options like ASK Italian or Las Iguanas. Better yet, give them a handmade voucher that offers to pay for their dinner so you can go out together and enjoy the experience as a two-some.

A shopping voucher: If you know they have a favourite place to source their clothes from- you could always get them a voucher to spend on a vegan friendly brand like Matt and Nat or Beyond Skin for instance. Or you could ask them if they’ve had their eye on a particular piece for a while and if it’s within your budget, you could get them this instead.

Bonus idea: A plant based meal delivery box: If the vegan in your world enjoys cooking with as little fuss as possible- this could be right up their street. You could gift them an entire box or give them a gift voucher towards a one off order or subscription. Either way- could eating vegan be made any easier?!
