2011 is a going to be a wedding spectacular with many famous faces walking down the aisle from Kate Middleton to Emma Bunton.

However not everyone has the budget for a wedding planner which many of this year’s spotlight brides are lucky enough to have.

Their glamorous entourages will be on hand at all hours to help relieve many of the enormous stresses and strains that come with planning the big day making the process a more enjoyable and relaxed experience.

With the huge amount of effort and planning that goes in to the organisation of a wedding it is no surprise that two thirds of the population[i] (66%) finds the experience stressful.

Whether it is buying the perfect dress or keeping the in-laws happy on the big day each wedding has its own moments of frustration and even the most competent organisers and calm personalities can find the whole thing extremely nerve-racking.

Further statistics could form the body of the feature highlighting the main causes of wedding stress, the most common times that stress peaks during a wedding period and other statistics around how long the average person spends on planning and organising their wedding. Details of the statistics can be seen below.

- (26%) One quarter of people said that the most stressful aspect of getting married was finding the money to pay for it all

- (17%) Almost a fifth of people asked said that the biggest cause of stress when planning their wedding was deciding who to invite

- (13%) One in 10 people said that dealing with their new in-laws was the most stressful part of their wedding period.

- (44%) Almost one in two people said that they felt most stressed during the organisation of their wedding

- (19%) One fifth of people asked, agreed that they felt most stressed on the morning of their wedding compared to the rest of the process.

Independent GP Dr. David Edwards said: "Stress is very common and affects both men and women, of all ages in very different ways.

"Stress can have many different triggers for each individual, all which can heighten during the planning of a wedding, causing considerable strain on the body.

"With a significant amount of areas to think about when planning the perfect big day it is common that both the bride and groom take little time to relax to allow their body to recuperate.

"Weddings can be costly and there are often lots of family members to keep happy which are two of the biggest causes of stress when planning a wedding."
