Today is Thanksgiving and if you are a bride helping your man prepare or a groom to be lost for words we are here to help! There is certain etiquette to follow for who you thank in the Groom’s speech, so we have laid it all out for you here no one gets left out!

Weddings on Female First

Thank the Father of the Bride

First you thank him for proposing the toast that it’s time for the groom’s speech.

Thanks him for his kindness and friendship through your time together as father in law and son in law (almost).

Most obviously you thank him for his daughter he did help to being her into the world after all!

If he has paid for the wedding breakfast then thank him for that too.

Thank the Guests

Many guests have paid for accommodation if you are having your wedding away from home or they live far away from you so you need to acknowledge the effort they have made to be there.

Everyone will gush on the day whether is it’s about how beautiful the bride looks, the food or the decoration, people are supposed to compliment you at every turn on your new life together. So ensure that you take each one graciously and publically make thanks for all of the well wishes.

Thanks the guests for their gifts whether they are wrapped or posted, everyone has spent money to contribute to your future so show your gratitude.

Thank the Bride

It may seem the less obvious choice as you can thank her at home in a few hours, but thank her for picking you to marry above everyone else.

Refer to how you both met and how your relationship developed from that point, everyone loves a romantic tale so indulge them!

Talk about the reason why you fell in love with your wife in the first place- what attracted you to her and why your love is still there today and always will be.

Talk about what you aspire to do in the future- have children, grow old together, whatever you see when you speak of your lives together and what will be.

Thank Individuals

Thank everyone who has contributed to the event, parents, the hotel staff, friends anyone who has made your day easier.

Thank the bridesmaids, comment on how beautiful they look and how much they have helped the bride on and leading up to her special day.

Thank the best men for helping you prepare and get through today.
