It is one of the most stressful things about a wedding – getting the perfect dress- so I thought it only right to ask for the help of wedding dress designer Charlotte Balbier for her advice when it came to one of our reader’s dilemmas.

Are you stressing about the dress?

Are you stressing about the dress?

Our discussion board member asks:

‘I don’t want to wear white..or cream, ivory or champagne.’

Charlotte says:

A wedding day is one of the only days a women can wear a white or ivory dress, 99% of my brides walk down the aisle in an Ivory gown. But some brides might like to be a little more daring and wear a hint of a shade. Your wedding photos will last forever so you’ll want to pick a colour that really works for your skin tone and complexion.  I love soft Nudes and Rose Pink shades which is a beautiful bridal colour to wear and this would be my non-white/Ivory bridal choice.  Many famous stars have worn colours on their wedding day, Jessica Biel wore an amazing Pink gown when she married the very gorgeous Justin Timberlake- loved her wedding dress.  A bright colourful dress is certainly something to be remembered and will stand out in photographs but it does run the risk of dating as a bold colour can date very quickly.
