To celebrate this landmark the lucky youngsters were invited to join in on the Arsenal Ladies squad’s training session.

Faye White MBE, Arsenal and England Ladies Captain, said:

“The enthusiasm of the young girls training with us here tonight is very promising for the future of the women’s game.

“With the Football Foundation committing £1m each year to the Junior Kit Scheme they are providing the next generation of players with the perfect start to the game. I would encourage school teams and clubs across the country to apply.”

Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, said:

“The Football Foundation’s Junior Kit Scheme is the only provider of free kit and equipment in the sporting world. So far over 100,000 youngsters have so far been kitted out since its launch in 2001.”

John Baranowski, who coaches the Sir Frederic Osborne’s girls, said:

“It is fantastic that the girls got to try out this fantastic new Nike kit and equipment from the Football Foundation alongside the stars from Arsenal Ladies.”

“The Under 14s are the Hertfordshire District County five-a-side champions. Our Under 15s were also County Champion last year so girls’ football is thriving at Sir Frederic’s.
