The frontrunner in the Republican polls was absent from the party debate in California on Wednesday (27.09.23) but instead launched an excoriating attack on Biden and the eco-friendly policies that he is convinced are destroying US manufacturing.

Trump told workers in Michigan that he would protect their jobs and battle environmental "lunatics" if he returns to the White House as he accused Biden of only being interested in making his family richer.

The former president said: "For decades you've watched rotten and crooked politicians like Biden treat American jobs as disposable and American workers as expendable. They sat back when we got rich by taking bribes to let other countries rape and pillage our jobs and our wealth."

Trump, who is facing multiple indictments, also called Biden "the most corrupt president" before quickly adding: "I shouldn't have said that. I'm going to get indicted again!"

The controversial politician gleefully attacked his White House successor as he was cheered on by a laughing crowd.

Trump said: "The only time Joe Biden has ever gotten his hands dirty is when he's taking cash from foreign countries.

"Crooked Joe Biden is back. Joe Biden is back like a wretched old vulture trying to finish off his prey."

He added: "Under Joe Biden... the workers of America - to put it nicely - are getting screwed.

"I want a future that protects American labour, not foreign labour."
