Eric Trump claims that the former US president "has done absolutely nothing wrong" amid his legal woes and suggested that "the entire country is laughing" at the cases against his dad.

Eric insists that his father will be able to balance his legal cases with his bid to return to the White House in next year's election and suggested that Trump is the victim of a political witch hunt.

He told Nigel Farage's GB News show: "Trump is going to do what he does best and he's going to multi-task and do what he had to do every single day during the four years of his presidency.

"Believe me, you only go after your enemies, if my father wasn't leading by 50 or 60 points for the Republican party, they wouldn't be going after him.

"These trials, these charges, they are nonsense, it's hard to believe the entire country is laughing at the stuff, everyone knows exactly what it is - it's the weaponisation of government."

Eric suggested that his father will "fight these people to the very end" and says the indictments are simply a bid to stop him from becoming president again.

He said: "They want to deprive him of time, they want to deprive him of resources, they want to deprive him of money and if nothing else, slander him.

"Even if they don't get their ultimate victory, which I don't think they will, because my father has done absolutely nothing wrong and he's hell-bent on fighting these people all the way to the very end.

"But they're trying to do exactly that because they don't want to see Donald Trump as president and they will do anything they can."
