The 'I Am Cait' star - who has long been a support of transgender rights - has slammed the US president after he decided to get rid of the guidance set by Barack Obama, which says schools should allow students to use whichever bathroom corresponds with their gender identity rather than their birth gender.

In a video uploaded to her Twitter account, Caitlyn said: "I have a message for the trans kids of America - you're winning. I know it doesn't feel like it today or every day, but you're winning. Very soon, we will win full freedom nationwide and it's going to be with bipartisan support. You can help by checking out the National Centre for Transgender Equality and letting Washington hear you loud and clear.

"Now I have a message for the bullies, you're sick. And because you're weak and pick on kids, pick on women or anyone else you think is vulnerable. Apparently even becoming the Attorney General isn't enough to cure some people of their insecurities ... Finally, I have a message for President Trump, from one Republican to another. This is a disaster. And you can still fix it. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me."

The tweet which contained the video has been retweeted nearly 10,000 times and it has been liked by over 30,000 people at the time of writing.

The message captioning the video reads: "Well @realDonaldTrump, from one Republican to another, this is a disaster. You made a promise to protect the LGTBQ community. Call me. (sic)"

And Caitlyn is not the only star to criticise the president over the scrapping of the bill.

Lena Dunham wrote on her own Twitter account: "Let's fight hate & ignorance with love for trans teens, who are already facing steep odds and who need our support to grow and THRIVE. I'm matching all donations up to 50k to the Ruth Ellis Center @REC_detroit cc @allycoalition @jackantonoff Tweet me your donation receipt! (sic)"
