The 22-year-old singer, who split from Justin Bieber last October after four years of dating, is reportedly eager to leave Los Angeles so she can finally move on and have a fresh start.

A source close to the 'Come & Get It' hitmaker said: "She wants to buy a place in Manhattan. She really needs to get over Justin and feels like living in New York City will give her the privacy she needs."

The brunette beauty previously admitted her best friend Taylor Swift, 25, was trying to convince her to relocate to the east coast of the US.

Speaking last year, she said: "Taylor has been begging me to live there. She's like, 'It's the best decision I've ever made.' Everyone always says I'm more New York when they meet me so maybe it would be good for me. I don't spend enough time there....I'd love to spend time in New York. I've always said that I want to have a love affair and live there."

But the 'Rudderless' star only recently decided to start looking for an NYC property.

The insider told InTouch magazine: "Moving to New York City will help Selena feel more grounded. She saw how Taylor moved to New York last year and absolutely loved it. She's hoping to have that, too."
